AA reveals amusing insurance claim calls

AA car insurance has released a Christmas list of customer calls which members of staff in the claims department found particularly amusing over the course of the year.

One of the comical tales involved a call from a distressed motorist who was driving around a corner when a car approached in the opposite direction with a Christmas tree tied to the roof.

It came loose and hit the motorist, causing him to drive into a hedge.

The rogue driver did not stop and never came back for his Christmas tree.

Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance, said: "It doesn't matter how bizarre the incident, you may be sure we've heard it all before and will still give a professional and helpful service."

Other stories involve magpies and sheep and two cars getting stuck at a supermarket.

Motorists were recently advised by Fool.co.uk to make sure they have details of their breakdown insurance provider with them when driving in the wintery weather.
