The Post Office is warning holidaymakers not to forget to pack their annual home insurance cover this summer.
A new report revealed that nearly a quarter of people are considering travelling this year without purchasing travel insurance in order to save money.
With many people considering shorter breaks or holidays within the UK, the demand for travel insurance has fallen. However, it is still vital that the correct travel insurance is purchased otherwise unlucky travellers could discover they actually end up paying out more.
Meanwhile, the Post Office is also reminding holidaymakers planning to take part in extreme sports on vacation to ensure they are covered by their travel insurance before as some policies often have restrictions in place - otherwise any subsequent medical treatment could be expensive.
Post Office head of travel insurance Rachel Croft explained: "The weaker pound means that the relative cost of hospital treatment abroad can be potentially much higher than usual."
