It is unlikely that the spate of adverse weather towards the end of last year will have had a massive impact on the property market, one expert has said.
Helen Adams, managing director at FirstRungNow.com, suggested that demand may be slightly down from last year, but this may not have been down to the weather.
"The main thing that is affecting the UK housing market is that there is a lack of mortgages. For example, it is very difficult for a first-time buyer to get a mortgage," she explained.
As a result, Ms Adams pointed out that now could be a good time to negotiate a better price on a property, especially with fewer first-time buyers able to enter the market.
According to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the level of completed house sales stabilised at the end of last year. |
