Motorcyclists are being reminded that they must have valid bike insurance before test driving a new motorbike. Swinton Bikes is stressing that motorists should ensure they have a valid bike insurance policy in place before they shop for a new bike - otherwise they could face points on their licence or possible disqualification.
Anthony Aronin, head of Swinton Bikes, explained that it is vital for bike buyers to take a test drive first to ensure that they find an appropriate model.
However, he added: "Even in the thrill of buying a new vehicle, it is important to keep a level head and carry out a number of checks to make sure that the vehicle meets needs and requirements, and that there are no obvious technical faults."
Last month, the Motorcycle Industry Association estimated that 5.5 million car commuters could reduce their motoring bills by opting to travel by motorcycle.
