Lower bike insurance premiums are one of the benefits of being safe on the road - and it appears an increasing number of motorcyclists are putting safety first and thinking about their tyres.
April was Bike Tyre Safety Month and safety organisation TyreSafe believes that it has sparked the imagination of bike insurance customers.
Last month was the busiest yet for the agency's website, with 26,700 visits - a growth of 185 per cent on April last year.
Stuart Jackson, chairman of TyreSafe, said that the increased traffic is "very encouraging" and a "direct result" of the campaign's focus on providing accurate and relevant advice to motorcyclists.
As part of Bike Tyre Safety Month, bikers were able to read top tips on the TyreSafe website, sign up to the organisation's newsletter and receive a free tyre valve extension.
The campaign also saw TyreSafe appeal to experienced bike owners to advise those attending rallies and race meetings on measures they should take before hitting the road.
