The amount of time spent indoors by Brits has hit an all-time high this month, new Halifax research shows.
As a result of spending more time inside, it found that 28 per cent of people are considering carrying out DIY tasks, which emphasises the need for home insurance.
Of those who said they would be carrying out home improvements, 64 per cent said they would be painting walls, while 32 per cent intended on bleeding radiators.
Furthermore, building flat-pack furniture was on the list for 32 per cent of people, while 31 per cent were thinking of putting up shelves.
Martyn Foulds, senior claims manager at Halifax home insurance, said: "Our research shows on average more than one in six DIY jobs go wrong, each costing £426 to fix."
Last month, the company revealed that Brits create £1.4 billion of damage in their homes every year through beauty mishaps, such as stains being created on furniture from makeup. |
