Brits 'hate paying car parking fees'

It seems that for many car insurance customers, having to pay the car parking fees at a hospital is one of their biggest grievances.

A poll conducted by The Co-operative revealed that 17 per cent of people say the charges for visiting unwell friends or relatives is the thing they most hate to pay for.

Many people also dislike having to pay to use public toilets, while prescription charges, dentists' bills and flight surcharges are also high on the list.

Zack Hocking, head of ISAs at The Co-operative, said: "The research confirms that there are many charges the public begrudgingly has to pay for.

"Unsurprisingly taxes are a bone of contention, with even tax on savings coming above prescription charges and dentists bills."

Last week, the AA stated that motorists with driving convictions are often more likely to make a claim on their car insurance policy.
