British holidaymakers have the least attractive beach bodies in Europe, according to a new poll.

In survey carried out by travel site lastminute.com Italian men and Spanish women were voted as the most attractive Europeans, with Brits trailing behind in last place.

As well as being voted the most unattractive holidaymakers, Britons were also deemed to be the worst dressed, rudest and heaviest drinkers.

However, it seems that Brits are relatively unfazed by these latest findings, with 78 per cent of UK holidaymakers admitting that they agree with the results.

Lastminute.com's managing director John Bevan commented: "Whether these findings are following a myth or a reality, the truth to the matter is that Britons do not allow this to get in the way of a good holiday and should feel as confident on the beach as their European counterparts."

Mr Bevan also pointed out that some of the world's most beautiful models and designers are British.

Recent figures from Mondail Assistance revealed that Spain is still the number one destination of choice for British holidaymakers.
