Mothers in the UK could end up having to pay more for their car insurance because they are increasingly offering their children lifts to spend time with them, it has been revealed.
Research conducted by Sheila's Wheels car insurance discovered that 45 per cent of mums believe that busy lifestyles are affecting the amount of time they get to spend with their children.
As a result, many are offering their kids car lifts to places so that they can spend some more time talking to them.
A further 56 per cent say it is easier to talk to their children in the car because there are fewer distractions.
Jacky Brown from Sheila's Wheels, said: "The important thing for mums behind the wheel to remember is not to be distracted and remain focused on the road at all times, no matter how intense the conversation gets."
In a move which could save them money on car insurance, Which? Car has revealed that many Brits are shunning 4x4s in favour of smaller vehicles.
