A new survey has found that men and women car insurance customers in the UK are becoming more equal.
According to research commissioned by Carmony.co.uk, the country's motorists are increasingly 'petrosexual' behind the wheel and opt for the same music, the same underwear and share similar car knowledge.
A total of 57 per cent of women now claim they know the difference between a coupe and a hatchback, compared to 65 per cent of men.
Meanwhile, nearly one in ten drivers believe that their vehicle choice makes them seem more intelligent and 12 per cent of male Audi drivers claim their car makes them seem well endowed. However, 70 per cent of motorists think that their car doesn't say anything about them as a person.
Samantha Bedford, managing director of Carmony.co.uk, said: "It is surprising that so many Brits dont think that their car is a reflection of them, when our study identifies a new type of driver that bridges the gender divide - petrosexuals."
car insurance customers have been advised by provider Aviva to make sure they exchange full details at the scene of an accident in order to ensure claims are processed quickly and efficiently.
