Caravan holidays 'have moved on'

Holidaymakers may be pleasantly surprised when they take out caravan insurance and head to parks this summer, a spokesperson for the National Caravan Council (NCC) has said.

Louise Wood suggested that the traditional image of sitting in dreary surroundings is now a thing of the past.

She continued: "You'll now find that in particular caravan holiday homes are absolutely luxurious.

"They can have en suite bathrooms, they can have flat screen TVs, they'll have DVDs, you can hook up Sky or digital TV."

Many caravan parks also attract large amounts of wildlife, which will add extra interest to any holiday, Ms Wood added.

A recent survey from Motorpoint found that attractions throughout the UK may suffer from a lack of visitors this summer as people seek to lower their fuel bills.

It revealed that 68 per cent of people will be reducing the number of days out they take this year over fears of rising petrol prices.ADNFCR-1789-ID-800652998-ADNFCR
