People are being encouraged to book travel insurance and go on family holidays to save money during the credit crunch.
New figures from Saga show that 44 per cent of adults in their late 20s have started going on holiday with their parents again, with more than a third of these doing so to save money.
Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga, said: "It is encouraging that a positive outcome of the credit crunch hitting younger travellers could be that families, including grandparents, are getting to spend more time together."
People planning to go on family trips have also been advised to consider their travel insurance carefully, as cover for a group of up to ten people can be purchased.
In related news, Abbey recently revealed that the average winter holiday costs Brits £550, with £195 of that being paid for on credit cards.
