A daredevil motorcyclist has announced he is planning to jump even further than the legendary Evel Knievel in a world record attempt.
The Daily Post reports that Jason Rennie revealed his plans at the recent Motorbike Show in Llangollen in a move that would increase the bike insurance premiums of the average motorcyclist.
He already holds five motorbike jumping records but is now planning to jump over 400 feet in 2010 after successfully beating Knievel's 146-foot record.
"I admired Evel Knievel. He was my hero and 146 feet was his furthest-ever jump so to beat his record is something special," said Mr Rennie.
He added: "We're pursuing a really big jump of around 400 feet in Abu Dhabi next year."
The Institute of Advanced Motorists could play a key role in reducing claims on bike insurance policies following its decision to produce a guide for bikers on how to boost their riding skills and avoid accidents.
