Drivers advised to 'cut car costs'

British motorists have been advised to beat the credit crunch by cutting down on their car costs.
According to a recent research, motorists are wasting billions of pounds every year through uneconomical driving practices.

A study carried out by Insurance.co.uk revealed that motorists driving at 90mph waste £1.20 every eight minutes, compared to those travelling at 70mph.

In order to reduce fuel costs as much as possible, motorists are advised to keep revs as low as possible and drive with the windows closed in order to reduce drag.

Other ways to cut costs include having vehicles serviced regularly and ensuring that tyre pressure levels are correct.

Using a price comparison site to compare car insurance quotes can also lead to huge savings.

According to the AA, British motorists pay an average of £682 per year for comprehensive car insurance cover and that is without the added cost of tax and breakdown cover.

Quotezone's breakdown insurance quote comparison system takes the work out of shopping for breakdown cover. Just fill in your details once and we will compare breakdown insurance quotes from lots of websites automatically.
