Entertaining kids can prove costly

Parents may find themselves raiding their savings accounts this Easter as they look for means of entertaining their kids, a survey has found.

Per child, LV= estimates that £267 will be spent over Easter and the following bank holidays, with some spending considerable amounts on childcare.

Meanwhile, ten per cent of parents revealed that they were worried about the additional costs associated with the extra day off on April 29th for the royal wedding.

"All parents know that days out aren't the cheapest option especially once you add travel costs, food and drink to the entrance fee for many attractions," explained Mark Jones, head of protection at LV=.

He urged families to come up with savvy means of reducing their outgoings, rather than opting to raid savings accounts.

David Rodger, managing director of the Debt Advice Foundation, recently advised people to set up a savings account separate from their other financial products in order to pay for any unexpected costs.ADNFCR-1789-ID-800495135-ADNFCR
