Europe is going to have to reassess its prices if it is going to get Brits taking out travel insurance and jumping on a plane to the mainland, one industry expert believes.
According to a spokesperson for the Association of Independent Tour Operators, there is no longer a high volume of people travelling as there has been in the past.
However, he did state that in the long-term, it is unlikely that Europe will have any major worries in attracting British holidaymakers as it is a "default location".
"It is easy to get to, it's convenient and there is a comfort that you are not that far away from home if needs be," the spokesperson furthered.
The Post Office Holiday Costs Barometer has revealed that Turkey, Bulgaria and Croatia are the cheapest options for holidaymakers wanting to take a European break.
