Brits may want to ensure that their contents and home insurance covers their possessions when out and about following the release of new figures from More Than.
The insurance provider conducted research which found that the average person carries £716.25 worth of goods around with them on a daily basis.
This figure has also increased recently with the cost of Christmas presents and sale bargains.
Further figures from the poll revealed that 24 per cent of people have lost or had items taken from their bags when outside while 77 per cent admit that they do not have adequate insurance for these belongings.
Dave Markey from More Than said: "It is important to be vigilant when we carry so much around - but should the worst happen, protecting against loss, damage or theft will save a lot of heartache and expense."
More Than recently launched a new home insurance policy which has two categories, covering contents in and away from the home.
