Recently released statistics have revealed that car insurance customers are now less likely to be thinking about green issues when buying a new motor.
Compared to October 2008, when 18 per cent of people wanted to buy a more environmentally friendly vehicle, only 12 per cent of drivers are now considering this.
They are also less keen to flash the cash and are spending less on any new cars they do purchase, the AA Personal Loans Car Purchase Index has shown.
When it comes to funding the vehicle, taking out a UK Loans is the option chosen by 18 per cent of motorists.
Edmund King, president of the AA, commented: "The AA Personal Loans Car Purchase Index is an extremely useful tool for monitoring future buying behaviour."
In related news, to avoid making a claim on their car insurance, Brits have been urged not leave keys lying around to ensure they are not stolen.
