As spring arrives in the UK, it may be the perfect time for people to get outside and enjoy some time in their garden.
However, they may also want to ensure that their home insurance policy covers the contents of their yard as it is also the prime time of year for pot pinchers.
Research from Saga has revealed that January, March, June and July are the most popular months for flower-pot robberies.
For those who are not covered by insurance, the cost of replacing these stolen goods could be up to £378.
Saga suggests that homeowners check garden security measures such as padlocks and fastenings as they may have rusted and become weak over the winter.
Meanwhile, Halifax home insurance has also warned that garden theft increased by 63 per cent over the summer months of 2008, while the cost of replacing stolen items also rose.
