InsureandGo: Many people are confused about travel insurance

Many people with gold credit cards are not properly covered by their travel insurance policy, it has been claimed.

According to InsureandGo, holidaymakers often think that their whole family is covered by a policy when really it is only themselves that is protected.

Similarly, in some cases they are only covered if they book their whole holiday on their credit card.

Perry Wilson, founder of InsureandGo, warned people not to purchase travel insurance just to cover the monetary value of their flight ticket.

"What people don't understand is that when you have an accident abroad, medical problems are the highest, and there is a ridiculous amount of money being spent out there which you can't claim back," he explained.

A survey conducted by Aldi travel earlier this year revealed that 82 per cent of people think a holiday is good for their wellbeing.
