Iveco signs up to scrappage scheme for van insurance customers

Van manufacturer Iveco has announced that it has become a part of the government's scrappage scheme.

The company will allow customers to benefit from a £2,000 discount when purchasing a new Daily van or a chassis cab at 3.5 tonnes as part of the recent scheme announced in the Budget.

Andrea Bucci, marketing director at Iveco, explained the offer will run until the end of February next year and could allow many customers to save money to put towards other costs such as van insurance.

"We're expecting this offer to prove particularly popular with small local retailers and tradesmen, who often drive older vans, but who now have a great opportunity to benefit from significant advantages," he added.

In order to be eligible for the discount, which consists of £1,000 from Iveco and £1,000 from the government, the trade-in vehicles must be registered on or before August 31st 1999 and be registered for at least 12 months in the customer's name.

The Citroen Berlingo recently claimed the titles of best new van and best light van at the 2009 Van Fleet World Honours with a range of features to attract those looking for vehicles that could help to reduce van insurance premiums.
