London's mayor has attended the recent Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership exhibition in the capital city and showed an interest in learning more about liquid biomethane (LBM) powered vans.
The event was held in Potters Field Park and both Iveco and Gasrec showed off their new range of eco-friendly vans that could play a key part in reducing the UK's carbon emissions.
Boris Johnson spoke directly to Inveco and Gasrec and showed interest in the recent use by Camden Council of a van to help reduce the emissions of its recycling and street cleansing operations.
David Burke, commercial development director at Iveco UK, said: "The mayor of London was extremely positive about the potential use of LBM. It's a technology that he wasn't fully aware of but was very keen to find out more."
Iveco currently offer 28 different LBM models available in the UK including three panel vans.
The government claims its scrappage scheme, which Iveco recently become a part of, has lead to an increase in the number of orders for new cars.
