It seems as though many people may be willing to get the right car insurance to cover them for a larger vehicle as research shows sales of used MPVs are looking resilient.
Statistics released by Experian have revealed that the MPV sector was the only one to see sales of used motors increase significantly during October and December 2008.
Sales figures were up by 7.9 per cent and Greater London was found to be the UK's MPV hotspot. Here, sales rose by 19 per cent in the final three months of last year.
Kirk Fletcher, managing director of Experian's Automotive division, said the poll indicates "that even in a downturn there is a certain degree of reluctance to downgrade in size".
Those who have purchased themselves an MPV may want to take care on the roads, as the AA has warned there are more potholes due to damage caused by the wintery weather earlier this year.
