Brits planning a holiday abroad may want to ensure they have adequate travel insurance as they could be more likely to try an extreme sport than they think.
According to research by Saga, one in ten holidaymakers will participate in an extreme sport while away and 55 per cent said they would try some exotic food.
Embracing the cultural activities of their holiday destination has also led ten per cent of Brits to wear traditional clothing and 63 per cent of over 50s claimed they would chat to people in restaurants and cafes.
Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga, said: "It's good to see that people enjoy themselves when abroad and embrace the local culture. But it is important to ensure you have adequate travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances so you really can have a carefree holiday."
In related news, the Association of Independent Tour Operators has revealed that Brits are now more likely to save on their travel insurance by staying in the UK for a holiday.
