A majority of British drivers polled recently by Sainsbury's confessed that they have been guilty of some sort of dangerous driving over the course of the past month.
Close to 65 per cent of the motorists quizzed by the car insurance provider said they had done something they should not while behind the wheel in recent weeks.
The most common activates that can be considered dangerous were eating and drinking, and wearing unsuitable footwear.
In addition, around 17 per cent of those polled said they were guilty of speeding over the past month, while 14 per cent confessed to speaking on their mobile phone without a hands free facility.
"Unfortunately, many motorists may not have considered the dangers behind some of their actions," a statement from Sainsbury's car insurance read.
Earlier this week, Britannia Rescue reported that more and more British motorists are choosing to run their cars on empty as petrol becomes increasingly inexpensive.
