Motorhome insurance 'essential' this summer

Owners of caravans need to make sure they take out motorhome insurance this summer, as thieves are likely to be at large.

Stolen vehicle recovery expert Tracker highlighted that the summer season is a peak time for thieves, so the need for tracking devices is at its peak.

Police liaison officer for Tracker Stuart Chapman said: "Whilst the caravan will probably be insured and eventually replaced, a theft at this time of year is likely to ruin holiday plans."

He suggested that by having a device fitted to a caravan, people can be safe in the knowledge their vehicle is likely to be recovered.

Malcolm Tarling, spokesman for the Association of British Insurers, recently explained that people need to realise that they will get what they pay for with insurance policies.

Cheaper options may not offer the same level of cover as others available on the market.ADNFCR-1789-ID-800614873-ADNFCR
