Drivers are under a great amount of stress at this time of year, with many getting increasingly frustrated as they hit the road. Research from Zurich shows that 19 per cent of those who drive over Christmas find it more stressful or irritating than at any other time of year. Difficult road conditions were named as the biggest annoyance, followed by parking the car when out shopping and an increase in traffic on the roads. Kay Martin, chief marketing officer at Zurich, said: "What with visiting friends and family, Christmas parties and shopping for presents, the festive season is the busiest time of year for many of us." One thing that motorists may find especially handy at this time of year is breakdown cover, which will give them peace of mind that they'll be dealt with should their car suddenly give up. Ms Martin emphasised that people need to stay as calm as possible to avoid getting into dangerous situations. |
