Nationwide: Ensure you get the best home insurance deal

Home insurance customers should ensure that they do not compromise on cover during the current economic downturn, an industry commentator has asserted.

Robin Bailey, insurance director at the financial services provider, explained that as concerns about expenditure grow as the recession continues, consumers are increasingly shopping around to find the best deal.

However, he noted that some people could be tempted to opt for a cheaper policy that does not offer a high level of service and cover as they look to reduce their outgoings.

"This is a decision they could come to regret if they ever need to make a claim," Mr Bailey asserted, urging consumers to never compromise on the quality of a Home insurance policy.

In recent days, Saga recommended that older parents welcoming their grown-up children back into their home as a result of the recession should consider the Home insurance implications of having more people in their property.
