Home insurance customers may be interested in advice from one news provider about what to do if they ever have to make a claim.

Reuters suggests that preparation is the best strategy when it comes to insurance and therefore following a checklist is a good idea.

The news provider states that one of the first things to do is gather evidence of any loss or damage and keep this in a safe place.

It may also be a good idea to take photographs of damages as well as collecting documents which show what was paid for any items.

Reuters continued: "Start a log documenting your claim, which includes dates, summaries of conversations and names, titles and contact information for claims personnel."

It says this will "provide timesaving information".

To avoid having to make a Home insurance claim this Easter, Brits have been warned by esure take precautions if they are planning on doing any DIY over the bank holiday.
