Carillion Property Services have revamped their van fleet in order to reduce fuel consumption and lower running costs.
The company has added a new fleet of 200 Peugeot vans and claims to have cut vehicle emissions by seven per cent over the past six months. This means the Scottish-branch of the firm could save around £24,000 in fuel bills in a 12-month period.
It is expected that the Peugeot Bipper, Partner and Expert will eventually replace Carillion Property's current fleet of mid-sized Vauxhall and Ford vans.
"We were keen to have all our vehicles from one manufacturer and there was no other company that could match the sheer variety of sizes, together with the impressive service that Peugeot delivers," explained Mark Smith of Carillion Property Services.
"Another key factor for us was driver safety and here too, Peugeot was always the front-runner, thanks to the vehicles ABS brakes, airbags and secure cabins."
Citroen's Berlingo van recently won praise for its new anti-theft device that could help to lower van insurance premiums for buyers.
