Cash-conscious Brits are being urged to be even more careful this Christmas by ensuring that they have the right home insurance to cover valuable presents.

Many homes will find they have an increased number of valuables in the property thanks to extra decorations and the gifts they purchase, according to MORE TH>N.

Therefore, thieves are on the lookout for homes which appear to be an easy target and incorrect home insurance may mean that any stolen items are not covered.

Keith Maxwell, head of home insurance at MORE TH>N encouraged people not too ruin their holidays by finding they are out of pocket.

"What with the gloomy economy, it seems that everyone is looking for a little Christmas cheer this year," he added.

In other Christmas insurance news, the AA recently warned motorists to be aware when doing their shopping as there has been an increase in the number of people making claims on their car insurance following break-ins.
