The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is launching a major research project into the safety of young motorists who drive as part of their job.
Work-related driving and young people currently pose two of the biggest challenges to road safety, the organisation claims.
Therefore it is initiating the study in order to gain the views of managers that employ drivers aged 17-24.
Young drivers will also be able to express their opinions during focus group sessions being run under the scheme, which is funded by the Department for Transport.
Duncan Vernon, road safety manager for England, said that driving is one of the most dangerous things that people have to do during their working lives.
He added: "Deadline pressures, unfamiliar routes and making frequent delivery stops can make driving for work very different to driving at other times."
Recently, figures from the AA revealed that young men can pay up to twice as much for car insurance in their first year on the road than their female counterparts.
