People going to the V Festival at the weekend took more than £800 worth of valuables with them, research from Endsleigh Insurance has found, and some festivalgoers are now no doubt checking whether their home contents insurance covers something they lost.
With a lineup including Eminem, Primal Scream, Rihanna and the Arctic Monkeys, the V Festival attracted a diverse array of people - unfortunately some of them thieves.
According to the study, every single student takes a mobile phone with them to festivals, while 37 per cent said they were taking more than one. Digital cameras and jewellery were also high on the list.
Vicki O'Connell, communications manager at Endsleigh Insurance, said the insurer has launched a new "survival guide" website to help students to get the most out of their experiences.
"It's important to remember that with any festival, big or small, there is a risk of loss or theft," she said.
"Although students will be travelling light, it all adds up, and their festival necessities will be expensive to replace." |
