One firm has revealed some of the ways in which people are saving money when they go on holiday.
As well as shopping around to find a cheap travel insurance policy, people are taking their own food away with them so they do not have spend as much cash dining out in restaurants.
A third admit that they will be taking teabags and breakfast cereal in their suitcase with them, while 33 per cent will avoid eating out by booking a self-catering break.
More than half said they would at least be cutting down on food and drink costs.
A Tesco Travel Money spokesperson said: "It's great to see that holidaymakers are pulling out the stops to get value for money and making sacrifices to ensure they get their two weeks in the sun."
The firm offered advice to Brits recently, urging them to shop around for the best deals on travel insurance and currency exchange rates.
