It seems as though holidaymakers are still set to pay air passenger duty (APD) as well as purchasing travel insurance when they jet off for a break.
According to VisitBritian, the recent Budget report was the perfect opportunity for the government to scrap the charge.
However, it was not mentioned in the announcement and the company has described it as a "blunt instrument" because the revenue generated from it is not put back into the travel industry.
Elliot Frisby, a spokesperson at VisitBritain, said that overseas visitors are "investors in Britain" as they pay taxes and contribute to the UK economy.
"By scrapping APD, it could have done a lot to help increase travel to Britain at this time," he added.
Meanwhile, ABTA The Travel Association, has warned people that it is important to take out travel insurance when booking a holiday due to the volatile nature of the industry.
