Packing a suitcase and getting away is something many people probably look forward to over the summer.
However, holidaying may not be so enjoyable if a person falls ill or loses their luggage and does not have travel insurance to protect themselves.
According to LV=, Brits who decide to stay in the UK for their summer vacation are less likely to think about taking out cheap travel insurance.
Emma Holyer, a spokesperson for the firm, explained: "You tend to think you need it if you fall ill overseas but obviously, you have various belongings with you on holiday so you have to make sure you have travel insurance policy."
She added that extending home contents insurance cover is also an option for holidaymakers.
LV= has revealed that the number of Brits considering staying in the UK and going on a camping holiday increased from 17 per cent in 2008 to 30 per cent this year.
