A relaxing holiday in France could turn into a nightmare for some Brits as many forget to take out travel insurance before their trip.
This is according to the AA, which claims that because many people are making impromptu holiday decisions, they are not taking out travel insurance until three days before their departure.
Some sun-seekers are even making their purchase just hours before boarding a ferry or plane which means they may be missing out on the deals which can be found if they shop around for their cover.
Christian Young, director of AA travel insurance, said: "People who leave things to the last minute are inevitably going to have less time to be well organised and insurance tends to be at the back of the mind until it's too late."
Holiday travel insurance UK recently claimed that it is easy to find good deals on travel insurance by going online.
