Van insurance customers 'opting for Fiat'

Many van insurance customers are opting for Fiat commercial vehicles, claims the automaker.

Fiat revealed that demand for its second hand models at auctions are selling well because of interest from fleet managers and the continued attraction for buyers.

Figures shows that models such as the Ducato 33, Scudo Panorama and Doblo Maxi attracted high bidding compared to valuation guidelines - suggesting that many drivers are willing to pay a premium in order to secure a Fiat van.

"These prices reflect growing demand in the market place for Fiat Professional products and an increasing trend for dealers to purchase vehicles at significantly higher than trade guide prices," explained Fiat Group used vehicle remarketing manager Simon Wheeler.

A new CO2 van database has been compiled by the Department of Transport to encourage van insurance customers to switch to more eco-friendly vehicles in a bid to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their running costs.
