There may have been fewer people taking out van insurance over the past month, as recent figures show that registrations for the vehicles have fallen.
Data released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) shows that van registrations were down by 20 per cent for the rolling year.
When compared to the same month in 2008, the decline was even greater, with a 58 per cent decrease in registrations.
Chief executive of the SMMT Paul Everitt said that this fall in demand for vans is putting the UK motor industry under pressure.
He added: "These are unique circumstances in which the government must help. We need direct, positive action to give people the confidence to buy now."
According to Only Finance, van insurance is essential for drivers in the UK, especially when poor driving conditions caused by bad weather are expected.
