Van insurance demand 'could be boosted by VW offers'

A new range of offers on commercial vehicles produced by Volkswagen could lead to increased sales of vans and van insurance.

The auto company is promoting its latest offers via a number of radio advertisements featuring actor Ray Winstone.

Promotional finance offers are available on the Volkswagen Caddy, Caddy Maxi, Transporter or Crafter van and will be available from Volkswagen Van Centres until the end of September before a series of price increases planned for October.

van insurance customers could be tempted by a range of contract hire and finance lease rates. For example, under a three-year contract hire and finance lease, the Caddy and Caddy Maxi are available for £189 and £209 a month plus VAT and deposit, while the Transporter is available at £229 a month plus VAT and deposit.

In addition, van insurance customers trading in an older vehicle could be entitled to a discount of up to £3,000 of the Crafter model and up to £2,000 off the price of a new Caddy or Transporter.

Last week, van maker Vauxhall announced a range of new service options for van owners to help them avoid large service bills.
