Younger people who could be purchasing their car insurance or breakdown insurance for the first time are more likely to talk about their finances, it has emerged.
Research conducted by CreditExpert.co.uk discovered that people aged between 18 and 24 are more likely to talk to others about their money situation.
Around 71 per cent said they were happy talking about finances, compared to 41 per cent of over-55 year-olds.
For 32 per cent of these young people, trying to discover whether their situation was out of the ordinary is why they like to discuss their bank accounts.
Darryl Bowman, director of CreditExpert.co.uk, said: "It's good to see people reacting positively and talking about their finances with those closest to them acting as sounding boards."
According to the Relax Group, careful debt management is one of the best ways for people to tackle their money problems.
