Half-term travel money saving tips from Tesco
October 22, 2008
The half-term holidays are now approaching and this can always be an expensive week for parents with children, especially if going away on holiday.
Therefore Tesco Personal Finance has given some advice on ways to save money.
Considering the price of travel insurance and organising this in advance can save money, especially as some people are choosing to sacrifice this cover to try and keep costs down.
Instead, shopping around for car hire, exchanging currency before getting to the airport and booking airport transfers in advance can all save pennies.
Rachel Cutler, head of Tesco Travel Insurance, said: "Holidays don’t have to be expensive, with a little planning and some clever cost cutting you can still enjoy a happy half-term together without fearing for your finances - even during the credit crunch."
The Irish Independent recently advised one traveller to make sure that a travel insurance policy covers lost or stolen baggage and money, even if it is a little more expensive.
