Nissan NV200 Insurance
With a choice of proportions, engines and body styles, and, Nissan NV200 is designed to fit all small business needs. The Japanese company offers two sizes, the L1 at a smidgen over 14ft long; and the L2 at just over 15ft long (650kg and 800kg payloads respectively).
Is the Nissan NV200 versatile for my needs?
The Nissan NV’s cargo capacity ranges from 123sq ft for the L1 to 169sq ft for the L2. These figures can be expanded by fitting a through-loading bulkhead. Independent tests have thrown up figures of around 60mpg, so pretty economical. Nissan says it prides itself on manufacturing a van which has buckets of space inside “while keeping the vehicle looking compact outside”. Engine-wise the L1 has engines which pump out 80bhp-115bhp.
Are they costly to buy and run?
Let’s look at the L2, 95bhp-115bhp. All engine sizes are 1.5litre and all are diesel. (The NV200 is now only available as an all-electric vehicle). It’s virtually the same as the Renault Kangoo and even shares its engines. Why? Because Nissan sees commercial vehicles to have a relatively short life so saw little reason for a full redesign.
What about the price of insurance?
As in the case of cars, van insurance groups are set by a governing panel, including members such as the Association of British Insurers. There are six main factors to consider. These are:
- Parts cost
- Overall cost to repair the vehicle
- Performance
- Engine size
- Weight
- Security
Of course if your Nissan NV is not being used for business use a standard insurance quote from quotezone.co.uk will suffice. But the the vehicle is being used for work purposes, other factors come into consideration.
Who can use Business Van Insurance?
- Small businesses – Business Van Insurance can prove to be a cost-effective option for small to medium businesses that don’t run a fleet of vans (that is two or more).
- Sole trader – Similarly, trade workers who have a single van may not need to insure their vehicle for multiple drivers, in which case a business van policy can save them time and money.
What should I look out for with Business Van Insurance?
- Look for policies with generous legal cover
- 24/7 legal helpline
- windscreen cover
- cover for driving abroad may also apply
