TalkTalk Broadband Explained

TalkTalk is a long-established UK home broadband provider known as a value brand. It delivers broadband over the Openreach network, and increasingly over full-fibre networks such as CityFibre in areas where they have been built. TalkTalk is not currently one of the providers you can compare on Quotezone, because it isn’t on our panel. You can still enter your postcode to compare the broadband deals that are available at your address from the providers Quotezone works with.

Who is TalkTalk?

TalkTalk is a well-known value broadband brand. It uses the Openreach network and, increasingly, full-fibre networks like CityFibre to reach homes.

A long-established provider

TalkTalk has been supplying home broadband to UK households for many years. It built its name as a value-focused brand, aimed at keeping monthly costs down.

Runs over the Openreach network

Across much of the country, TalkTalk delivers broadband over the Openreach network – full fibre (FTTP) where it has been built, and standard fibre where full fibre hasn’t reached yet.

And over full-fibre networks

In a growing number of areas, TalkTalk also offers broadband over full-fibre networks such as CityFibre. Which network reaches you depends on where you live.

What broadband does TalkTalk offer?

TalkTalk offers full fibre where networks have been built and standard fibre elsewhere. Exact packages and prices change over time and vary by address.

Full fibre where it’s built

Where full fibre reaches your address – over Openreach or CityFibre – TalkTalk offers full-fibre broadband for faster, steadier connections.

Standard fibre elsewhere

Where full fibre hasn’t arrived, its broadband over Openreach uses standard fibre, which is enough for everyday browsing and streaming.

A value-focused choice

TalkTalk positions itself as a budget-friendly brand, so it tends to appeal to households watching their monthly outgoings rather than chasing the very top speeds.

Can I compare TalkTalk broadband on Quotezone?

To be clear: TalkTalk isn’t a provider you can compare on Quotezone right now. You can still compare the providers that are available where you live.

Not currently

TalkTalk isn’t on the Quotezone panel at the moment, so it doesn’t appear in our broadband results. We’d rather be upfront about that than imply a deal we can’t actually show you.

Compare what’s available instead

Enter your postcode and Quotezone shows the broadband deals you can get at your address from the providers we do work with – so you can still weigh up your options in one place.

Check TalkTalk directly

National providers

Quotezone shows deals from larger providers including Sky, Vodafone, BT, Virgin Media, NOW and Three, depending on what reaches your address.

Full-fibre specialists

It also surfaces full-fibre providers such as Community Fibre, YouFibre and BeFibre where they’ve built their networks. See the full list of broadband providers you can compare.

Compare at your postcode

Which of these is available depends on where you live. Enter your postcode and Quotezone shows the deals that can actually be installed at your address, side by side.

TalkTalk and the UK full-fibre rollout

TalkTalk’s use of both Openreach and networks like CityFibre reflects how the UK is being wired for full fibre. Across the UK, full fibre now reaches 82% of homes – 24.9 million premises – and gigabit-capable broadband 89%, as of January 2026 (Ofcom Connected Nations). As that rollout continues, more addresses gain access to full-fibre packages from a wider range of providers.

Whichever provider you choose, it pays to check the speed you’re likely to get at peak times (8pm–10pm), the monthly cost, set-up fees, contract length and any in-contract price rise (Ofcom). A postcode check on Quotezone shows the deals you can actually get today, so you can compare them before your current contract ends.
