SsangYong van insurance

SsangYong Motor Company, South Korea’s fourth-largest car company/manufacturer, is a relatively new company. Founded in 1954 as a builder of jeeps and military equipment for the US Army, the name SsangYong was only first used in 1988 after the SsangYong Group took the company over from the Dong-A Motor group. The name SsangYong means twin dragons.

Affiliated with DaimlerChrysler (formerly Daimler-Benz) since 1991, SsangYong is also often discussed as being associated with Daewoo. Daewoo Motors bought a controlling stake in 1997 but sold it off in 2000. Currently, the SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) owns 49% of SsangYong Motors, having acquired it in 2004.

The company produced a number of cars and commercial vehicles, some of which are listed as follows: Passenger Cars SUVs- Rodius(Stavic), Rexton, Musso, Musso SUT, Chairman (based on the Mercedes-Benz W124 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class), Korando Istana (based on the Mercedes-Benz MB100).

Commercial Vehicles include the following : SY Truck and the Transstar.
